Government condemns killing of Clergyman

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Widodo AS said here Monday the government condemned the killing of the general secretary of the Central Sulawesi Christian Church, Reverend Irianto Kongkoli, in Palu earlier in the day. He said that he had ordered law enforcement agencies to take immediate steps to solve the case. "We have specifically ordered the intelligence agencies, the police and the military (TNI) to immediately find the perpetrator(s)," he said after a closed-door meeting of the Poso Team at the parliament building. "The government condemns the shooting of Rev Irianto Kongkoli. This was an act of terror," he said. He said the security situation in Poso and Palu in Central Sulawesi was actually conducive but security authorities had to make continous efforts to maintain it. Widodo said the incident was more or less a form of reaction and response of certain people to the execution of Fabianus Tibo, Marinus Riwu and Dominggus da Silva recently. "We will continue to closely watch incidents happening after the executions," he said.

What a load of manure!! Lip service again from the Indonesian Government. The extra police and army in Central Sulawesi are there to make sure Christians behave, not Muslims. That's why Rev. Irianto was able to be murdered in a public shooting. Muslims continue to have a free reign to bomb (yesterday) and kill (today). This conflict is looking to open up again because the Muslim government won't do anything to muzzle the Muslim militants. Again, no justice for Christians and a good man is dead. God rest his soul and my prayers go out to the family.
