Words of comfort for we the persecuted

Let us, who are persecuted for our belief in Christ not only here in Indonesia but in countries all around the world, find comfort in the fact that we are in great company.

The apostle Paul wrote in
2 Corinthians 11:24-27 that:

Five times the Jews gave me forty blows but one. Three times I was whipped with rods, once I was stoned, three times the ship I was in came to destruction at sea, a night and a day I have been in the water; In frequent travels, in dangers on rivers, in dangers from outlaws, in dangers from my countrymen, in dangers from the Gentiles, in dangers in the town, in dangers in the waste land, in dangers at sea, in dangers among false brothers; In hard work and weariness, in frequent watchings, going without food and drink, cold and in need of clothing.

Not to mention the numerous times he was jailed. But Paul encouraged us to persevere and keep up the fight in 2 Corinthians 4:8-10

Troubles are around us on every side, but we are not distressed; things are hard for us, but we are not in despair; We are persecuted, but not forsaken; we are cast down, but we are not destroyed; Always bearing in our bodies the death of Lord Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may be seen in our bodies.

And Peter further encourages us in 1 Peter 4:13

But be glad that you are given a part in sharing the suffering of Christ; so that at the revelation of his glory you may have great joy.
