Same old problems in Indonesia

An Indonesia Democratic Party Struggle (PDIP) figure, Taufik Kiemas, husband of former president Megawati Sukarnoputri, said earlier the recent riots in several cities in East Nusa Tenggara concerned happenings in the legal and justice fields in the country."This is a commonly committed act and must immediately be overcome," he said.
A political observer from the University of Indonesia, Audy Wuysang, meanwhile expressed surprise that the state had pushed through the execution of Tibo and his associates although data showed they were not the masterminds of the Poso conflict. "In short, the state has once again shown its arrogance," he said.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
